Medical transcription is a great industry in which you can earn a lucrative income in a home based job.  Medical transcription employment works for a wide range of people; those with young children to those who are looking to supplement a retirement income. Full-time, part-time, and independent contractor positions are available in this industry.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment in medical transcription will grow faster than the average in comparison to most occupations.  The Medical Transcription Industry Association (MTIA) and the Department of Labor in collaborative efforts have made medical transcription an apprenticeable occupation.
